Asset Registers and Digital Logbooks to Support Facilities Management (FM)

Standards-driven planned maintenance deployed effortlessly anywhere.

Since first demonstrating an electronic building logbook on 24 June 1999 at the Haydock Hotel, we have been committed to transforming how planned maintenance is organised, evidenced and delivered. What began as a solution to the problems of paper logbooks—loss, inaccessibility and inconsistent reporting—has evolved into a proven digital platform trusted across industrial, commercial and public-sector environments.

Today, our systems have processed more than two hundred and sixty thousand documents for clients operating in diverse sectors. Engineers, coordinators and managers rely on our technology to maintain compliance, streamline workflow and ensure that every asset is managed consistently throughout its lifecycle.

We believe that planned maintenance is a specialist discipline. It demands robust procedures, disciplined scheduling and coordinated workflows. For this reason, we have continually invested in our digital infrastructure. In 1997 we introduced “Bert”, our cloud-based work planning and control application, which continues to underpin our service delivery. Bert integrates seamlessly with the Logbook Portal, allowing our team, clients and Trusted Partners to work from shared, real-time data—whether on site, remotely or across multiple countries.

This private cloud environment has eliminated the need for regional depots and local offices, reducing cost and risk while enabling us to utilise local engineering skills through our Trusted Partner Scheme. It also allows our administration team to work flexibly from home while maintaining full visibility of customer requirements and compliance obligations.

As a result, we can deploy harmonised maintenance policies worldwide, giving organisations a consistent, standards-driven approach to asset management regardless of language, location or regulatory landscape.
